Anyone reading this
page is probably wondering why we have dubbed the lounge with the
name Waverley, well in a nutshell, it was suggested that as our pub
is called The Boat Inn, and we are devoting the lounge mainly
to whiskies the name for the lounge should have a connection with
boats and Scotland , where undoubtedly the worlds best whiskies are
distilled.
We are always on the
lookout for whisky memorabilia to display in the lounge, e.g. jugs,
posters, prints, etc, so if you have any items you think may be of

The lounge is the
home of THE WAVERLEY WHISKY CLUB, the club meets on the
1st Friday of each month.
The idea of the club
is for members to be able to sample malt whiskies which are not
generally available. The club will be run on a totally non profit
basis, with members each paying £10 per month members will agree at
each meeting which malt to choose the next month, if there is a
surplus of funds these will roll over into a "slush fund"
which may occasionally build up to enable us to buy an extra special
bottle, or bottles depending on the number of members.
The Lounge also has
our second big screen TV for showing the key sporting events.
New members are
always welcome.
